All, Let me introduce ISSCA (Impala SS Clubs of America) to you. I was voted in as the Region 2 Director, this includes Nevada, California, and Hawaii. ISSCA is just getting its feet back on the ground and it is starting to gain momentum, currently we have over 140 registered members. I can tell you there is a lot going on with the ISSCA club right now. They are still trying to get it back up and running at the level as it was in the past years. This takes time and a lot of effort. I'll tell you, the guys are trying to do the best they can. ISSCA Mission The general purpose of the Impala SS Clubs of America (ISSCA), a not-for-profit organization, shall be to preserve and maintain the Chevrolet Impala & Impala SS manufactured by General Motors, to serve as an accurate source of technical information concerning these automobiles for the benefit of its members, and plan club functions. Classification of Vehicles. In order to facilitate the general purpose, the vehicle identification number must be traceable to an Impala & Impala SS, with special allowances for Caprice, or B and D bodies manufactured from 1991 through 1996 (Buick Roadmaster, Cadillac Fleetwood or Oldsmobile Custom Cruiser models) by General Motors.
One of my duties is to promote ISSCA and the activities with the club, ISSCA Nationals. My other responsibility is to promote the people, cars, and events in my region. One of the benefits of being in ISSCA will be cheaper event insurance for chartered clubs events, e.g. WeSSt CoaSSt Gathering. To be a chartered club all you have to do is to have two of your club members join ISSCA. It only costs $30 to join.
Also, the magazine, SScene is going again. Initially it will be an electronic version (printing costs are very high) and it is available to everyone, but the next edition will only be available to ISSCA members. SScene will have articles of events (ISSCA NAts, San Diego Cruise, WCG!), car tips, and profile peoples rides. Here is the link for the magazine http://issca.org/spring-2010-sscene/
If you guys are interested and join ISSCA as a chartered club, I will have a mention on your club in the magazine, a link to your website, and your information on the ISSCA website.
The ISSCA website is new and still in the building stages, can be found at http://issca.org/. A Welcome Statement is found in the home page, as well as links to a Regions map, Mission Statement and By-Laws. The Charter Club page is still under construction….and additional pages and links will be added over the next few weeks. There is a link to a membership application. This is where you can begin to show support right away. If you are a past member, you will keep your old membership number. Once you join up, you will receive a membership package with ID card and ISSCA logo sticker.
If anyone has any suggestions send them to me. Thanks for your support, Jim Wiltse
Jim we will always support you in everything you do and back you in any bar brawl.. oops You know what I mean..
Problem is right now I think most want to see ISSCA get back on it's feet again before we jump back on board. After all we spent money on memberships and they shut their doors and we all got nothing in return for our dollars. Just a matter of time Jim. Congrats on the position they couldn't have a better person.
Thanks for the support! I try to stay our of bar brawls nowadays, getting way to old for that stuff!
I understand what you are saying, been there myself. I hope the club continues to grow and get better. It does look like this time the BoDs are doing their best to get the club running, membership up, and benefits to members. The mag is a big thing. We have good pland for future editions and how-to articles for everyone to read. And like I said to get members cars profiled in it!
Jim
hmm... i was wondering what happened to that
